Hip, back & pelvic pain
Pelvic, hip, and back pain are common in pregnancy because your body is preparing for birth. Natural pregnancy hormones soften the tissues around your joints, especially in the pelvis, so your body can open and make space for your baby. This can make the pelvis feel less supported.
As your baby grows, your body shape and balance change. You may start to lean back more, which places extra strain on the lower back, hips, and pelvis. Muscles work harder to support you, and this can lead to aching, stiffness, or pain that may spread into the bottom, groin, or down the legs.
Although uncomfortable, these changes are a natural part of pregnancy. With gentle, nurturing support, your body can be encouraged to soften, find more comfort, and adapt more easily. The Birth Preparation Midwife offers personalised treatments to support your body through these changes and help you feel more at ease.
