Moxibustion for Breech Babies

Safe support from 34 weeks

If your baby is bottom-first (breech) from 34 weeks, I offer a gentle, traditional method to help encourage them to turn head-down. Around 3–4 in 100 babies are breech late in pregnancy, but many babies turn naturally by 36–37 weeks. Moxibustion works best between 34 and 37 weeks.

What is Moxibustion?

Moxibustion is a safe, non-invasive technique from traditional Chinese medicine. It uses a warming stick made from dried herbs (called moxa) to gently heat specifi c points on your toes, helping your baby to move.

How It Helps

The warmth encourages your baby to move by relaxing your womb and stimulating energy flow. Many people notice their baby becoming more active after the treatment. When combined with simple posture techniques, research shows about 1 in 8 breech babies may turn naturally.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I attend the session alone?

Yes! You can attend on your own. You’ll receive clear instructions and a breech information leafl et to discuss with your birth partner, and I’m here to answer any questions you have.

When can I start moxibustion?

Treatment is usually offered from 34 weeks of pregnancy.

Do I need to do anything else with this treatment?

While moxibustion alone can be effective, combining it with postural techniques and optimal positioning exercises can support baby to turn. I will provide some guidance and information on this.
