Meet Amy
Hello and welcome! I’m Amy Duke, a qualified midwife and the founder of The Birth Preparation Midwife.
I’ve always loved midwifery — it’s my passion — and I wanted to combine that with my love for complementary therapies. I’ve also used complementary therapies myself during my own pregnancies, so I understand how comforting and supportive they can be.
I’m a qualified massage therapist and hold a diploma in complementary therapies with Expectancy, the UK’s leading provider of education for midwives. Bringing these skills together allows me to offer a calm, nurturing space in my treatment room in Ilfracombe where you can relax, find relief from pregnancy symptoms, and feel supported.
I want to provide women with extra choices, offering complementary therapy treatments as another option for breech pregnancies and overdue pregnancies. My aim is to create a place where you can pause, rest, and take care of yourself, even in the middle of busy everyday life, while doing the incredible job of growing your baby.

I’ve been a qualified practising midwife since 2013, working in a all areas of midwifery, specialising in birth and labour care.
I live in Ilfracombe, North Devon, and when I’m not supporting families, I love spending time with my family, exploring the beach, travelling in our camper van, enjoying tea and cake, buying stationery, and curling up with books about pregnancy, birth, and complementary therapies.
